Good humour abounded as a large crowd gathered in Broadford village on Sunday for the launch of the Trails. Brochures were distributed as queues formed for registration. The committee were delighted with the turnout which ensures that a substantial cheque will be presented to the Friends of St.Ita’s Hospital in memory of the late Jerry Forde. The date of this presentation will be announced shortly. Tom Madigan Chairperson of West Limerick Resources Ltd addressed the crowd and congratulated the committee on the completion of the project. Máire Bradley, niece of the late Jerry Forde officially opened the Trails. Following the launch the walkers had a choice of two routes The Killagholehane Way and The Gleann Beag Loop. Refreshments were served in the Day Care centre to tired but happy walkers. The trails are now open to all, brochures are available to purchase locally and maps can be downloaded from the website
