The Cuckoo (CuculusCanorus, Cuach) is a widespread summer visitor to Ireland from April to August. Despite its obvious song, it is rarely seen. Cuckoos are brood parasites, laying their eggs in the nests of other species. In Ireland, their main host is the Meadow Pipit.
