The Meadow Pipit (Anthus Prathensis, Riabhog Móna) is probably the commonest open country bird in Ireland. It lives in rough pastures and uplands. It is often seen flying up out of the grass uttering it’s distinctive ‘seep-seep’ call.
Cuckoos often lay their eggs in a Meadow Pipit’s nest.
