In springtime the Ash (Fraxinus Excelsior, Fuinseog) is easily recognisable by its black buds. Each leaf has 9-15 leaflets. In autumn clusters of keys can be seen hanging from the branches. These keys contain the fruit. The ash is one of the last trees to come into leaf. Hurleys are made from Ash timber.
